“Thank you! I thank my parents and my brother for everything they have taught me, my friends who have shared this journey with me, all my teammates, the staff, the coaches, the president and all the employees I have met at the club. Of course , I want to thank my children for the strength they give me and my wife for her unconditional support, without them nothing would have been possible, because reality exceeded dreams.
My greatest desire has always been to be a Barcelona player, my memory is full of many memories that I cherish. Growing up in the Academy was one of the most special things in my life, after those 7 years I had to leave but then I came back to fulfill my dream of playing in the first team and I did it in 2012 coming home with a presentation at the Camp Nou, which became a unique moment.
After 11 seasons, I feel proud and satisfied with everything we have achieved together. Not everything was beautiful, because we also experienced difficult moments, but we always came out of them together. I will miss running on the track at the Camp Nou, feeling the love of the fans and their joy in important moments. Who would have told a 9-year-old boy, who began his illusion-filled journey at the Academy, that he would make his dreams come true.
I was fortunate to. From the bottom of my heart, I thank all the fans in the world for their support. With all this in mind, after a long period of reflection, I believe it is best to leave and I would like to announce that this will be my last season as a Barca player, it has not been an easy journey, but I am leaving in peace And happy, I believe that the best feeling in the world is that you belong to Barça. See you on Sunday at Camp Nou! Thanks Coolers! Whisper of the boat!” – Jordi Alba.
