The New York Post, in a recent lengthy article, expresses Greece’s “vote of confidence” on holidays in 2023.

As a popular newspaper usually writes, “when you dream of the perfect vacation, tropical white sand beaches, fresh fruit and rich culture come to mind. Is there a place with all three? We are talking about Greece, which has always been a tourist destination both for its rich culture and for its absolute relaxation.”

Among the places recommended in tribute, Sifnos and Naxos stand out, occupying the first two places. As for Sifnos, which is at the top of the list, the editorial states that “if you are looking for the perfect Greek island that has a balance of great beaches, laid back nightlife, white Cycladic villages, quality tourism and possibly the best food in the Cyclades, then look no further. look beyond Sifnos.”

As for Naxos, which comes in second place, the medium considers it an attractive destination not only for those looking for sunshine and nightlife, but also for those who want to experience authentic Greek culture. In addition, in many villages they still wear traditional costumes, weave on old looms and live on the fruits of the earth. The New York Post list is completed by Lesbos, Pelion, Crete, Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos and Santorini.

Regarding the upcoming tourist season, Sifnos Mayor Maria Nadali stated that “the messages we have received so far are very positive. Sifnos is expected to become an attraction for tourists from Greece and abroad. Markets such as France, Italy, Belgium, Germany and the UK favor the Cycladic island of harmony. At the same time, new markets such as the US are developing.”

In the same vein, Deputy Mayor of Naxos and Lesser Cycladic Tourism, Vangelis Katsaras added that “a season with a lot of foreign visitors is coming. Today’s travelers want something more than a sun-sea model. They are looking for the authentic and want to discover nature and other cultures. Naxos enchants tourists from Europe, America, Australia and even Asia because it hides all of Greece.”
