The Japanese company Nidec opened a factory in Serbia, the investment is one of the largest in the history of the neighboring country. The first phase is complete, and the entire project costs 1.5 billion euros and will create 1,000 jobs.

The factory was built in Novi Sad, 90 km from Belgrade.

In the fall of 2020, Nidec Corporation announced that it would open a factory in Serbia, with construction beginning in late 2021. The factory is now officially open, with 200 employees, and the investment is big, as a research and development center will also be opened. The unit covers 60,000 square meters.

The plant produces automotive inverters and engine control units.

Nidec is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automotive engines and their components.
