
CFR Infrastructura has announced that 54 km of the track has undergone Quick Wins repairs for a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Construction sites have started in areas such as Petrosani, Tekuchi, Campia Turzii, as well as between Pitesti and Craiova. The average speed on the CFR network is 45 km/h. A speed of 120 km/h is possible on less than a tenth of the network.
National rail company CFR SA says the first 20 Quick Wins sites are in the works to remove speed limits on 54km of railway and increase the maximum speed to 120km/h.
Qucik Wins works have a contractual duration of 18 to 24 months and are performed precisely at certain railway intervals, with the longest contract period being for the purchase by builders of all components of the track superstructure – rails, sleepers, tracks. appliances, braces, TDJ, crushed stone, etc.
The first construction sites of the QUICK WINS type – operating on the railway sections Simeria – Petroshani, Pitesti – Craiova, Mereshest – Tekuchi Nord, Apakhida – Baia Mare, Rezbioeni – Bishopric of Bihor and Teyush – Ayud – aimed at the works of the upper structure of the railway on 54.25 km railway, installation of 69 new track devices, 3 braces (connecting 2 parallel lines), 3 double turnouts (TDJ) and elastic slabs at 27 level crossings during the next 20 CF intervals, where the maximum speed of traffic will increase depending on the technical configuration route and technical parameters of the track, up to 120 km/h.
In the period from November 2022 to March 2023, 8 regional railways signed 119 Quick Wins contracts for the total amount of 1.93 billion lei excluding VAT to remove speed restrictions on 410 km of CF on the public railway network, and in on Friday, May 19, , 2023, SRCF Brașov signs the last four contracts for a total of 51.21 million lei without VAT as part of this work program to remove speed limits on the 10.13 km CF.
