“As a result of a complex of investigative actions, it was established that one of the accomplices of this crime is a citizen of Ukraine, Yuriy Denisov. He was charged in absentia,” the Russian Commissariat said in a statement.

Russian investigators say the Ukrainian man arrived in Russia in February 2023 to prepare an attack that killed a Russian military blogger and wounded 32 people.

“He (Denysov) gave Daria Trepova (the detainee) a statuette with explosives, which she brought to the cafe where the meeting with Fomin (Tatarsky) took place. That’s when the explosion happened, which caused the death of the military blogger,” the message also states.

Tatarskyi, a native of Ukraine’s Donetsk region, was one of the most popular military correspondents and bloggers who rose to fame during the Russian military campaign in Ukraine.

“We will beat them all, kill them all, rob them all as necessary. Just the way we like it,” Tatarskyi said in the Kremlin, where he was invited in September 2022 to the ceremony of joining the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
