Nick Kyrgios underwent knee surgery over the winter and is out of the game for 2023, and now the Australian has also had to pull out of Roland Garros.
Nick Kyrgios will not play at Roland Garros 2023.
As reported by L’Equipe, on Tuesday, Nick Kyrgios officially announced the end of his career at the Grand Slam tournament in Paris (May 28 – June 11).
The 2022 Wimbledon finalist was also scheduled to play an exhibition match with Holger Rooney (May 24 in Copenhagen), but Kyrgios promised fans that the meeting would take place later.
The Aussie’s defeat is no surprise: it will be Nick’s sixth consecutive year without a clay court in Paris.
Kyrgios has said in the past that clay is “the biggest mess”, but he appears to have changed his mind during the Houston tournament, saying that the surface suits him (after defeating Mackenzie Macdonald).
