Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday as part of a tour of several key European allies ahead of Ukraine’s expected counteroffensive against Russian troops, Reuters reported.

Sunak’s office said the British leader would confirm on Monday the delivery of hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles and other unmanned aerial systems, including hundreds of new long-range attack drones with a range of more than 200 kilometers.

We will remind you that last week Great Britain was the first to start supplying Ukraine with long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles, which will allow its forces to strike at Russian troops and supply warehouses far behind the front line.

Over the weekend, Zelensky visited Berlin, Rome and Paris to meet with European leaders to secure additional military and financial support for Ukraine.

“Today is London. The UK is leading the way when it comes to enhancing our capabilities on the ground and in the air. This cooperation will continue today,” Zelensky wrote on Twitter.

“I will meet my friend Rishi. We will have substantial face-to-face discussions between our delegations,” he added.

The British government said Zelensky had arrived in the UK and would meet with Sunak at his residence in Checkers.

“This is a decisive moment in Ukraine’s struggle in this terrible war. They need the continued support of the international community to protect themselves from the barrage of relentless and indiscriminate attacks that have been their daily reality for more than a year,” Sunak said in a statement.

After the United States, Britain is one of the largest providers of military aid to Ukraine, providing £2.3 billion in support last year and pledging a similar amount for 2023.

In January, Britain said it would send 14 of its main battle tanks to Ukraine, a commitment that other countries, including the United States and Germany, have followed through on.
