Ukrainian forces intercepted and destroyed three missiles and 25 drones overnight in the latest airstrike in the country since early May, Reuters reported.
Russia has increased the number of missile and drone attacks this month, which Kyiv attributes to Moscow’s fears of an expected Ukrainian counteroffensive.
Russia “attacked Ukraine from various directions with Shahed attack drones, Kalibr missiles from Black Sea ships (and) cruise missiles from Tu-95 strategic aircraft,” the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement.
At least two people were injured in the west of Ternopil region, a high-ranking official of the President of Ukraine reported on his Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian authorities do not report attacks on critical infrastructure or military facilities
