Everton – Manchester City match postponed due to Eurovision final

The match between Everton and Manchester City has been moved to Sunday at 16:00 as the Eurovision final takes place in Liverpool on Saturday.

That leaves Guardiola with one less day to prepare for the duel with Real Madrid (who play Getafe on Saturday).

“We can’t play on Saturday because that’s when the Eurovision finals take place. It seems that law enforcement cannot cope with two such large-scale events in Liverpool in one day. To be honest, I don’t understand the situation, but it’s true. We must adapt and meet this moment.

I can’t fight league schedules. We must lead. In four days we will play two important matches. We want the players to be at their best physical level.

They will always arrange the matches as they like, this happens in all championships and it will not change in the near future” – Pep Guardiolaquoted by Mundo Deportivo.
