NBCUniversal head of publicity Linda Giaccarino resigns from her position and joins Twitter as the next CEO, as confirmed by the owner of the social network Elon Musk via a related tweet on Friday.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Linda Giaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” Musk wrote about this on Twitter. He added that “he will focus mainly on business operations and I will focus on product design and new technologies.” Musk also mentioned, “I’m looking forward to working with Linda to turn this platform into X, the app for everything.”

Linda Giaccarino was NBCU’s president of global advertising and partnerships.
Back in November, Musk announced that he would limit his time on Twitter and find a new executive to run the company.
As the WSJ noted yesterday, since Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter last year, many advertisers have put their spending on hold due to concerns that it could weaken control over content, or more general uncertainty about the direction Twitter will take under its new leadership.
