Public opinion was shaken by the death of a 5.5-month-old infant in Arta, who died after being locked in a car for at least 5 hours.

The father of the child, who has been charged with manslaughter, remains under guard at the hospital and is under the influence of sedatives. The 27-year-old mother of the child is also in a state of shock and still cannot believe the tragedy knocking on her door.

An autopsy is expected today at Ioannina University Hospital in order to establish the causes of his death.

Relatives and colleagues of the couple have been in the Arta hospital since the first moment, trying to psychologically support their parents, with whom they cannot yet communicate due to their condition.

Chronicle of tragedy

The tragedy occurred yesterday Tuesday when a 27-year-old woman left for work, and a 37-year-old DEDDIE employee took a 5.5-month-old girl to leave her in a nursery and continue her work.

However, the man did not go to the station, but immediately went to work, locked the car and forgot the child inside, fastened in a child seat. He continued his work and realized his mistake by noon, but it was too late.

He took the child to the hospital, and the doctors tried to resuscitate him, but to no avail.
