Acropolis Museum takes part in the European Night of Museums this year, Saturday, May 13 2023, with extended schedule from from 9:00 to midnight and free entry from 20:00.

Visitors will be able to admire the masterpieces from his collections in the evening light. The restaurant on the second floor will be open at the same time.

Like every Saturday morning, visitors can watch a thematic presentation “Saturday at the museum with 20+1 masterpieces“.

This is a walk through the exhibition spaces of the museum, during which myths and legends, beliefs and traditions, historical monuments and human stories are turned into art and intertwined with a unique experience.

International Museum Day

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, the museum will celebrate International Museum Day with free admission for visitors from 9:00 to 20:00. This year’s theme “Museums, Sustainability and Quality of Life” focuses, among other things, on the role of museums as places of entertainment, creativity and socialization for children, elements necessary for their well-being and mental health. In this regard, the Acropolis Museum invites its little friends to the CHILDREN’S CORNER, a specially designed space on the second floor. There they will find touchscreens with fun digital games and engaging videos that bring ancient myths to life, tell fascinating stories and reveal aspects of the daily life of the ancient Athenians.

In addition, families with children can pick up one of the four research brochures at the information desk and explore the museum’s exhibits in a fun and creative way, or purchase the new publication “Ancient Activities at the Acropolis Museum” from the sales office. and discover exhibits that bring them to the workplaces of ancient Athenians in a creative and entertaining way.
