The PNL and PSD say they do not want to take any ministry from the UDMR. Kelemen Hunor’s union insists the Liberals have targeted the environment ministry and will quit the government if coalition partners don’t budge.

Nicolae Chuke and Marcel Cholaku admit that negotiations are underway for the government rotation planned for the end of this month.

“NLL wants absolutely nothing. (…) There was no formal approach, there are no such discussions that will lead us to a decision, these are discussions,” said the PNL leader.

“There are discussions between the leaders of the Coalition, and we found that there is a protocol that we respect. (…) There are always negotiations, but there is a protocol,” the head of the State Emergency Service also stated.

Choma Botond: “I didn’t go out for the sake of going out”

Instead, the UDMR insists that everything is serious, and a request to refuse the Ministry of Ecology has been officially submitted.

“I didn’t go out for the sake of going out. (…) This is our position, we believe that we have done our job well and we want to continue working. We do not agree with these political mutations that are forming between PNL and PSD. If a conclusion is reached between the PNL and the PSD that the UDMR no longer has the same arithmetic value in 2023 as in 2021, we are seriously thinking about how to leave the government,” insisted the leader of the UDMR deputies, Choma Botond. Tuesday.

As for the possibility of the UDMR taking over agriculture or energy, an option discussed in the Coalition but rejected by the PNL and PSD, the Union leader admits that he has good people for those portfolios, but the problem does not arise.

“We have not discussed this aspect, yes, we can discuss the Ministry of Agriculture, for example, the Ministry of Energy. I said these ministries because we have people who can do a good job. It would be correct if there was a protocol of the coalition, which is in effect today, and these three ministries remained,” he added.
