If the charging time of electric cars has already been significantly reduced thanks to the gradual democratization of high-speed terminals and increasingly powerful charging capabilities, the British company promises to go even further. This “super” battery is the credit of Nyobolt, which says it is ready for presentation “revolutionary battery”.

Is this really the battery of the future?

This battery is the result of a collaboration with Callum, a company specializing in design and development, and will be presented next June. Nyobolt has yet to reveal details of the battery’s composition, but the British firm mentions the integration of “unpublished” materials, a new, more compact cell design and “effective management software”.

Says Sai Shivareddy, CEO of Nyobolt: “We managed to fully use the potential of batteries to bring a new generation of technology to life. The growth of electric vehicle sales worldwide clearly shows that the industry needs solutions of this type that can reduce charging times. »

The battery isn’t the only part of the equation

The British company is not the only one interested in the production of ultra-fast batteries. StoreDot, for example, is testing XFC batteries, which promise to get about 160 km of autonomy in 5 minutes, and 15 manufacturers have already expressed interest. There are also CATL sodium-ion batteries compatible with the 800-volt architecture.

In addition to batteries, the equation also includes work on ultra-fast charging stations, with installations up to 480 kW and which are already in service in China. Let’s also not forget the Tesla Megacharger, a huge charging station with a capacity of up to 1.5 MW and designed to charge Tesla Semi electric trucks.
