The Court of Appeal of Bucharest decided to oblige Florin Sekurianu and Ionuc Valentin Tenase, a representative of the company that worked with the hospital managed by Sekurianu, to jointly and severally pay the amount of 140,378.22 lei to the Clinical Hospital of Nicolae Malaxa, representing damages.

The charges that the DNA brought against Sekuryan in this case

The former head of the Nicolae Malaxa Hospital in the capital, Florin Secureanu, was referred to the DNA court in September 2020.

The prosecutors of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate accused Florin Sekuriana of breaching his obligations under the main legislation, in the sense that, as the head of the Nicolae Malaxa Clinical Hospital in Bucharest and a creditor, he had, in the period 2009-2016, made payments in the total amount of 648 193 lei from the funds of the medical institution to several commercial companies, including those managed by Ionuts Valentin Tenase.

These are the companies SC Medical Provider SRL, SC Mastergamer Interactiv SRL, SC La Ursul Polar Servimpex SRL and SC Prof Plast SRL.

The relevant funds would be paid both for commercial transactions that did not actually take place, regarding the purchase of products and services intended for the nursing unit, and for goods purchased at prices exceeding six times the purchase price.

In May 2017, DNA also brought Florin Sekuriana to court for committing the crimes of embezzlement – five acts, one of which has particularly serious consequences – and bribery.
