These are the Northern Road Axis of Crete (BOAK), the Hersonissos-Neapolis section and the axis of the Kalamata-Rizomilos-Pylos-Methoni road in Messinia. The bank said that Alpha Bank, together with other banks, is taking over the financing of two projects totaling 465 million euros, which are expected to make a decisive contribution both to security and to the reduction of transport costs.

In particular, the bank has started financing in the amount of 225 million euros the Hersonissos – Neapolis section of the 90 (A90) motorway, also known as the Northern Road Axis of Crete (BOAC), with a percentage share of 50%, together with the Eurobank (50%), taking over simultaneously the role of coordinator of the general contractor. The project, 22.5 kilometers long and costing more than 285 million euros, stretches between the cities of Hersonissos Heraklion and Neapolis Lasithi and is expected to be completed in 2027. The BOAC, with a total length of more than 300 kilometers, will significantly improve road safety in Crete, and will also be of great importance for development, facilitating the flow of tourists and at the same time reducing transport costs. According to experts, the implementation of the project will lead to an increase in employment, improvement of transport conditions and accessibility of residential areas, business and industrial networks.

Alfa Bank is also financing the Kalamata-Rizomilos-Pylos-Methoni road axis, 49 km long, with a 40% share, together with the National Bank (35%) and the Eurobank (25%), also taking on the role of the main coordinator. contractor.
