After just one year in Italy’s Serie B, Genoa secured promotion with two matches left in the season after a 2-1 win over Ascoli and a draw between Bari and Modena.

Rada Dragushyn started in defense, while George Puskas and Denis Dragush were on the bench. The formation coached by Alberto Gilardino dominated at home against Ascoli.

Mattia Bani opened the scoring in the 16th minute, Croatia’s Milan Badel extended the lead in the 63rd and could have extended the lead three minutes later when Massimo Coda missed from 11 metres. The guests reduced the difference in the 68th minute thanks to Masuri.

With two stages to go in the Serie B season, Genoa have mathematically secured promotion alongside Frosinone.

On a season-long loan from Juventus, defender Radu Dragushin made an important contribution, scoring four goals in 33 games. Earlier this year, Genoa activated his buyout clause.

Also four goals, but striker George Puskas also scored in 22 games, while Denis Dragus, on loan from Standard, went just four games without scoring.
