The BBC Russian service, in cooperation with the investigative journalism website Mediazona and a group of volunteers, has confirmed from open sources the names of 22,055 Russian soldiers who died in the war in Ukraine, of which 2,057 are conscripts.
Over the past two weeks, it became known about the death of 2367 Russians.
From the last entry released on April 7 until today, the Wagner mercenary organization has suffered the heaviest losses in the city of Bahamut. Among them are ordinary mercenaries and prisoners who are secretly buried.
BBC and Mediazone journalists note that the total number of victims could be much higher, since they record only those names of the dead that are made public.
The media report, which only includes famous names, is updated every two weeks.
