Maryna Zanevska burst into tears at the sound of the siren

Zanevska, who is ranked 75th in the WTA ranking, met the American Katie Volynets in the 1/8 finals of the “WTA 125” tournament in Saint Malo.

Marina, who said she was shocked by the war unleashed by Russia in her native country, spoke of the moments of panic she experienced in France.

“I had very strange feelings after winning the first set. I don’t know why, but the siren started. It took 20 seconds, but it felt like forever! I started to cry a lot and couldn’t stop.

I have not been to Ukraine since February 24. I never felt any sirens there. But that sound triggered something in me. My heart was beating very fast. It was extraordinary. Usually, when I go out on the field, I forget about my problems. But here it really impressed me!” – Maryna Zanevska on Twitter.

Although she won the first set convincingly, 6-2, Zanevska took the moment and lost the next sets 6-4 and 7-5.
