Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, former Russian president, said on a social network on Wednesday that an alleged overnight drone strike on the Kremlin left Moscow with no choice but to “remove” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his “clique” from Kyiv, Reuters reports.
Zelensky denied that Kyiv was behind the incident, which the Kremlin says was an attempt on the life of President Vladimir Putin, but in which no one was injured.
“We are fighting on our territory, we are not attacking Moscow or Putin… We did not attack Putin, we leave this issue for consideration by the court,” Zelenskyy said.
In the video, which appeared on Russian social networks, a column of smoke can be seen over the Kremlin.
Later, footage appeared showing what appeared to be a drone that exploded directly over the Kremlin.
