May Day: New protests in France for pensions – UAV surveillance of mobilizations

Trade unions intend to use today’s Labor Day give new impetus to mass protests against pension reform promoted by the presidential administration Emmanuel Macron.

French authorities expect between 500,000 and 600,000 people to take part in more than 300 rallies across the country.

Macron’s centrist government considers reform of the pension system, including raising the retirement age from 62 to 64, a fait accompli. However, the trade unions and part of the opposition do not agree, instead they mean to continue the fight against it and prevent the implementation of measures from September 1.

Strike movements for three days caused problems on air routes in France.

A demonstration of 100,000 people is expected in Paris and the French police fear there will be incidents.

For the first time, UAVs will be used to monitor demonstrations in the French capital.
