Firisel Tomai blames other interests in the case of Simona Halep

The former coach of Simona Halep in the period from 2008 to 2012, Firichel Tomai, noted that among the athletes who are part of the WTA Council, only one stood up for the Romanian.

“As far as I understand, the situation there is not very clear. Simone is the person to face, but the others are in the middle and should be avoided. There are certain things in the middle that make things difficult. Yes, there may be other interests!

There are some very good girls on the WTA Council who did not defend her. She tried to press alone. The ATP and WTA boards are made up of the best players.

There are other implications related to international federations, with Muratoglu being a name. Maybe they want to give back not only to Simona, but to other people as well,” Firichel Tomai told DigiSport.

According to Reuters, the ITIA said that the procedure in this case is “ongoing” under the World Anti-Doping Code.
