In Sevastopol, an important port of the peninsula, a fuel tank caught fire. Crimeaannounced early this morning, installed Moscow Governor of the region Mikhail Razvozaev in Telegram.
According to Razvozayev, the fire was likely caused by a Ukrainian drone strike.
“A fuel tank is on fire (…) According to preliminary data, the flames could have been caused by a UAV strike,” Razvozaev said, according to the Russian state news agency TASS. He added that the fire area is 1,000 square meters.
However, he did not provide information about the victims.
Kyiv has repeatedly stated its intention to return the Crimean Peninsula, unrecognized by the international community, annexed by Russia in 2014.
Since the Russian military invaded Ukraine more than 14 months ago, there have been repeated attacks by the Ukrainian military and security services on the peninsula.
