The University of Cluj managed to qualify for the Romanian Cup final for the sixth time after defeating UTA Arad.
Aredeni scored first through Virgilio Postolaki in the 15th minute, but the success was disallowed after a VAR intervention for a foul.
In the 34th minute, Ubbink fouled Remakli in the penalty area, and the referee awarded a penalty from 11 meters after a VAR review.
Dan Nistor converted the penalty to set up the final score of the game.
The University of Cluj has one Romanian Cup and has played in four other finals, the last in 2015.
In the other semi-final, Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe beat CFR Cluj 3-0.
This year’s Romanian Cup final will be held on May 24 at the Municipal Stadium in Sibiu.
