Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe managed to easily qualify for the final of the Romanian Cup after an emphatic 3-0 win over CFR champions Cluj at home in a one-goal game with two missed penalties.

Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe is again in the final of the Romanian Cup

Sepsi trophy winners Sfantu Gheorghe got off to a great start against CFR Cluj and opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Nicolae Paun.

In the 29th minute, Marius Stefanescu doubled the advantage with a strong shot from inside the penalty area.

Before the break, CFR was 10 up after Burke was sent off for a foul in the penalty area against Sanfranco. Kosmin Matei missed the shot from 11 meters and sent it into the crossbar.

In the 80th minute, Sepsi received a penalty again after a handball by Brown in the penalty area. Marius Stefanescu executed, Scuffet deflected, but the ball reached Rondon, who increased the score.

In the other semi-final, the University of Cluj and UTA will meet on Thursday from 19:00.

This year’s Romanian Cup final will be held on May 24 at the Municipal Stadium in Sibiu.
