
A collection of paintings that belonged to the politician Corneliu Vadym Tudor will be auctioned next week, on Tuesday, April 25, through the auction house A10 by Artmark as part of a large-scale auction dedicated to contemporary Romanian art. Several dozen Romanian paintings, which outline the passion of the collector Corneliu Vadim Tudor for traditional values, are signed by such famous Romanian artists as Gheorghe Petrascu, Rudolf-Schweitzer Kumpena, as well as Sorin Ilfoveanu. The small collection of paintings with a classical taste and atmosphere comes about a decade after the family auctioned in 2014-2015 his collection of Romanian books and historical artefacts, some of which have remained on the art market , and others later entered the museum exposition.
Among the works of traditional themes in the collection of Corneliu Vadym Tudor, we should note a large oil painting by Rudolf-Schweitzer Kumpena, one of the collector’s favorite authors, entitled “Rest in the Field”, which depicts a tired peasant after working in the field, untying a bunch of onions, preparing a simple a dish The starting price of the painting is 1,800 euros.
