​Romania suffered a dramatic 3-2 defeat against Slovenia and missed out on qualifying for the Billie Jean King Cup finals. The tricolors led 2:0, but could not finish the match and lost the doubles match.

The pair of Iryna Bara – Monica Niculescu lost to the team of Kai Yuvan / Tamara Zidansek with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Romania led 2:0 after the first day of the meeting in Sport Park Bonifica (Koper), but Ana Bohdan could not finish the match against Zidansek (she served to win 5-4 and 6-5 in the second set, and in the decider she led with with a score of 5-2) and Jacqueline Christian categorically lost the game to Kaya Yuvan.

Bara and Niculescu won the first set of the doubles match (it was interrupted on Saturday due to rain with a score of 3-3) and led with a break in the deciding set (2-1 and 3-2), but Juvan and Zidansek did not give up the fight and won after two hours and 42 minutes of play.
