Emmanuel Macron invited French trade unions to meet with him on Tuesday “regardless of the decision of the Constitutional Council” to be released later today on the controversial pension reform, the president said.
“This will definitely be the beginning of a cycle that the president and government will continue in the coming weeks with the social partners. The doors of the Champs Elysees will remain open for this dialogue without any conditions,” the head of the French state said.
The Constitutional Council is expected to announce today whether it approves or condemns, in whole or in part, the reform plan against which unions have staged several protests since January.
