The third favorite of the tournament, Medvedev, ended the game after an hour and a half of play, not leaving many chances for the Italian.

The player from Russia took full advantage of his opponent’s mistakes, which allowed him to miss two set points and one match point.

In the round of 16, Medvedev will meet the German Oleksandr Zverev (16 ATP).

Danylo Medvedev, who is ranked 5th in the world, won this year’s tournaments in Rotterdam, Doha, Dubai and Miami.

The Monte Carlo Masters takes place from April 9 to 16 on clay, has a total prize pool of €5,779,335, with Novak Djokovic as the top favorite and Stefanos Tsitsipas the champion of the last two tournaments.
