The authorities are conducting a disciplinary check against the convict Ilias Casidiaris to establish how his messages are posted on social networks while he is imprisoned in Domokos prison, without the right to own and use a mobile phone and access to the Internet.

In the first instance, he was sentenced for leading a criminal organization to 13 years and 6 months in prison, which he is serving.

This was reported by sources in the General Secretariat of the Anti-Criminal Policy of the Ministry of Citizens’ Protection, cited by ERT. a meeting of the disciplinary council of the Domoko prison is expected on Wednesday in the presence of the prosecutor in charge of the penitentiary.

Council will consider if Kasidiaris uses a pay phone not only to talk to his lawyers and relatives on personal matters, as provided, but also for other reasons.

According to the report, materials with his voice were uploaded to the Internet – videos with messages in which he can be heard.

Sources at the Ministry of Civil Protection say prison payphones can be used for conversations that are recorded and then posted online.

This is not the first time that H. kasidiaris has been under control. On May 26, 2021, the then secretary general for anti-crime policy, Sophia Nicolaou, demanded that the prosecution authorities conduct an investigation and give a criminal assessment of the activities of Ilias Kasidiaris in relation to “distance communication” and the management of group meetings.
