This is a new thriller series in the world of Star Wars starring Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung Jae. The rest of the cast is completed by Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacido, Daphne Keene, Rebecca Henderson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dean-Charles Chapman and others. Lucasfilm announced that the project is expected to premiere on the platform in 2024.

The series, which Variety reported in 2020 was in development and officially announced at the time, is the creation of Leslie Headland. Headland co-wrote the Russian Doll series and directed the films Bachelorette Party and Sleeping with Other People.

The Acolyte takes place 100 years before the prequel trilogy. The story will focus on the dark side of the Force and in particular the rise of the Sith, a group of Jedi preparing to conquer the galaxy. However, no details of the case have been released yet.
