Ukrainian troops continue to resist Russian troops besieging the city Bahamutthe occupation of which will take another 3-4 weeks, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder and head of the Russian mercenary organization Wagner, said today in a message on the Telegram platform.
Prigozhin’s new assessment comes just days after he said Russian troops had captured a strategically important city.
The attackers seek to cut off the supply lines of the Ukrainian troops, which will allow them to invade Bakhmut from different points and proceed to “destroy key military installations,” says the head of Wagner.
Against the backdrop of dozens of graves of his mercenaries, Prigozhin said: “This cemetery must one day become a monument for future generations,” admitting that his troops had suffered heavy losses in the last weeks of fighting for Bakhmut.
