Will we relive the catastrophic situation of last October? Everything leads us to believe that it is not, even if many motorists are still afraid of it. Because the refinery has been idle for several weeks, and some strikers have even been fired. They protest against pension reform implemented by the government despite strong popular opposition. As a result, discontent is still very strong across France, and protest movements continue. There are no results yet.

Towards peace

Because the only people who will be directly affected by these strikes are the motorists who are struggling to find fuel to fill up. But it may be that over time the situation begins to improve little by little. At least, that’s according to the Union of Oil Companies (UFIP), which says things should be better soon. The latter explains thatwe’re off to a bad start to the week, but I think so will be much better during this week“. Indeed, new deliveries are underway, in particular to the Paris region.

A small improvement

As Olivier Gantois, president of UFIP, reminds us ” we started with 17% of stations in difficulty across France and finished with 9%“. So that’s a pretty encouraging sign, even if it’s still particularly hard to find lead-free. On the other hand, there is almost no shortage of diesel fuel, as only 10% of stations do not have this fuel. But no matter what, there is no reason to worry, because soon everything should be fine. Let’s hope this improvement lasts…
