Attorney Alina Hubba, who represents Donald Trump in several civil cases, spent time with the former president in New York on Tuesday and said: “He is in good spirits. To be honest, he is what he usually should be. He’s ready to go and do what they have to do on Tuesday,” she said.
Former President Donald Trump met with his lawyers Susan Necheles and Joe Tacopina at Trump Tower after arriving in New York on Monday, a source familiar with the meeting told CNN.
Hubba, appearing on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters,” was asked about the “game plan” for Trump’s appearance in Manhattan court on Tuesday, and he said, “It’s all planned.”
She added: “Barring some surprises, I think everything should go smoothly. We are trying to coordinate and work with everyone to make sure there are no problems.”
As for the possibility of Trump getting a fair trial in Manhattan, Hubba said, “No, no. I think it is very difficult. I wish I could trust this state, but I practiced for them years ago. I went to trial in New York for several years and I can tell you it’s not the same as representing someone else.”
It is unclear whether Todd Blanch, a new member of Trump’s New York legal team, was at the meeting.
Former President Donald Trump is to be impeached on Tuesday.
