His criticism was harsh Nikos Androulakis prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakiswhom he accused of telling half-truths about the Evros fence.
President of PASOK-KINAL in an interview he gave to a journalist at noon in the context of STAR FORUM 2023 in Lamia George Simopoulosrecalled that the fence began to build the PASOK government.
“Because we believe that countries have borders. Borders exist both on Evros and on the sea. But Mr. Mitsotakis is telling half-truths, trying to expose SYRIZA, which, of course, has exposed itself,” he said, making it clear that a fence and border guards are needed.
He further remarked that “Mr. Mitsotakis’s Austrian fellow travelers in the People’s Party are the ones who told him well done about the fence, but vetoed it so that there would be no revision of the Dublin Regulation to take the burden off the country of first admission, i.e. Greece , Italy and Spain.
He also added that Mr Mitsotakis, in his four years as prime minister, never once raised the issue with his political group or the European Council, “because the European right will tell him, ‘I don’t discuss this.’
“So we, as social democrats, say yes to border security, but yes to redefining Dublin so that the first country is not responsible for who enters Europe. Let it be the whole EU. Well, the application for asylum must be submitted throughout the EU,” he said.
Referring to government economic modelargued that “the development of the New Democracy is the development of temporary and part-time employment.”
“The patriotic faction must, with its program, stand in the way of the de-Hellenization of the Greek economy. The foundations cannot blackmail thousands of farmers and breeders, thousands of borrowers, because Mr. Tsipras, who promised peace, handed them over to the crows of the foundations, and today they are negotiating without any criteria at the table,” Nikos Androulakis emphasized.
ABOUT post-election partnership, pointed out: “There can be cooperative governments. Each side approaches the negotiations with its own forces. That’s why I say to the Greek people: give us a strong percentage to negotiate from a position that can guarantee what we say before the elections.”
N. Androulakis contrasted governments of cooperation with the way of exercising power by the one-party government of New Democracy and the management of SYRIZA-ANEL.
“I want you to think today: could the 2015 referendum have taken place if there had been a program agreement between SYRIZA and a serious party, and not just additions of power, as happened with Kammenos? A television license contest that resulted in Mr. Pappas being found guilty by the Special Court by a score of 13-0? Could the system of Mitsotakis and Maximos wiretap and not prosecute the main characters, such as his nephew, the commander of the EMP, the prosecutor Vlachos, the businessmen with the Predator? Will all this happen in a cooperative government? No. Because there are internal controls, institutional balances, and not the arrogance of the alleged state state, which is Mitsotakis and his company, or Tsipras and his company,” said the President of PASOK-KINAL and emphasized:
“Therefore, for me, governments of cooperation with programmatic content, with respect for institutions, with individuals who enjoy great confidence, can create a basis for security and prospects for the Greek people.”
