After presenting the car, element by element, Lamborghini finally opens the curtain on its new supercar, Revuelto. This model will have a difficult task to replace the Aventador, and for this the bull company is betting on an all-new naturally aspirated V12 with support for hybridization.

While waiting to see how it looks on the road, the Lamborghini Revuelto is already showing some pretty incredible numbers, including a 0 to 100 km/h that comes in 2.5 seconds and the top speed is more than 350 km/h.

Lamborghini Revuelto: engine

Let’s go straight to the point. Lamborghini Revuelto is equipped with a new naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 developing 825 hp. at 9250 rpm and 725 Nm of torque at 6750 rpm.

It will be connected to three electric motors only 1015 hp. The transmission is four-wheel drive, with two electric motors at the front (one per wheel) and one electric motor at the rear, mated to a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission behind the V12, which replaces the Aventador’s seven-speed gearbox. single clutch

The new Lamborghini V12, better known as the “L545”, is lighter and more powerful than the company’s old V12: it weighs 218 kg (i.e. 17 kg less than the Aventador engine) and oriented at 180°.

This is the first hybrid model for Lamborghini. Equipped with a lithium-ion batteryCapacity 3.8 kW/h, it can be charged in 30 minutes on an AC network with a maximum power of 7 kW. Using regenerative braking and the V12 while the car is moving, the battery can be charged in just six minutes.

The Lamborghini Revuelto is built on a new platform that echoes its ancestors, the Lamborghini Miura and other Lamborghini Countachs. Indeed, like the Miura, the car has a transmission mounted transversely behind the engine, which is rotated 180° compared to the Aventador. The space gained by the absence of a central tunnel is now used to integrate the battery.

So this new Lamborghini doesn’t have a supercapacitor like the Lamborghini Sian, but a “real” battery, making it an HPEV (Lamborghini’s acronym stands for High-Performance Electrified Vehicle) in line with its more traditional name, namely PHEV (Plug- in Hybrid Electric Vehicles). , which includes plug-in hybrid cars.

Lamborghini Revuelto: from 180 to 1015 hp

The car has three electrification control modes – Recharge, Hybrid and Performance – which can be selected via a special control and complement the traditional driving modes we know from Lamborghini: Strada, Sport and Corsa, to which City mode has been added.

In the “City” mode, the output power is significantly limited, at 180 hp in this case, for driving at low speeds, in traffic, which allows the car to move solely thanks to electricity. When the lithium-ion battery falls below the minimum energy level, part of the power of the V12 engine is used for recharging (in Recharge mode). Under these conditions, the suspension, traction control and gearbox are also calibrated for optimum comfort.

In the “Strada” mode, the power increases to 886 hp, with the V12 engine running continuously to ensure a constant state of charge for the battery that powers the three electric motors. Two front electric motors contribute to dynamism thanks to the torque distribution system.

By switching to Sport mode, the true character of the new Lamborghini V12 begins to emerge. In this mode, you can combine each of the three electrification programs (Recharge, Hybrid and Performance). In the “Sport” configuration, it reaches V12, supported by a hybrid module 907 hp. The gearbox also becomes more responsive, the car noisier, and the suspension stiffer.

The combination of “Corsa” and “Performance” modes provides total power 1015 hpadding the 6.5-liter V12’s contribution to the electric motors. It is in this configuration that the new Lamborghini V12 will be the most extreme and can be fully used on the track..

Lamborghini Revuelto: structure and chassis

The secret of the new Lamborghini Revuelto lies in its “monofuselage”, i.e full carbon fiber monocoque combined with a carbon front section with shorter fibers soaked in a resin bath, a solution patented by Bull since 2008.

Engineers used carbon fiber not only to strengthen the body, but also improve the ability to absorb energy during a frontal impact.

According to the transalpine manufacturer, the monofuselage is 10% lighter than the Aventador’s chassis, and the new front end has increased weight by 20%. Torsional stiffness has increased by 25%, which directly affects the stability and responsiveness of the car during sports use.

Another innovation is the “rocker ring”, a special ring made of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), which acts as the supporting structure of the car. This solution, developed using efficient and sustainable technology, reduces energy consumption and material waste throughout the entire production process. Lamborghini has also worked on the roof and the rear of the chassis to save a few more precious kilograms.

Lamborghini Revuelto: brakes, tires, weight…

As for braking, the Bull firm opted for 410x38mm carbon-ceramic discs at the front and 390x32mm at the rear, with ten-piston calipers up front and four-piston rear. .

The brand also claims that downforce is 66% higher than the Lamborghini Aventador S, while drag is also improved by 61%. The front splitter and roof shapes direct airflow, while the rear spoiler works in conjunction with the semi-active suspension.

The car will be equipped with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires designed especially for it. Lamborghini clarifies that this new model is 10% lighter than the Aventador, thanks in particular to a new carbon fiber structure, and torsional rigidity has increased by 25%. This architecture allows weight distribution is 44% front and 56% rear.

The naturally aspirated V12 engine is located in a rear central position, with two electric motors at the front (one per wheel) that distribute torque for greater maneuverability in tight corners while offering greater stability at high speeds. A third rear-mounted electric motor also participates in the energy recovery phases. It is paired with a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission mounted transversely behind the internal combustion engine.

Lamborghini Revuelto: customization and connectivity

Aesthetically, as you can see, we find something typical of Lamborghini with rough lines. The Revuelto is also a Lamborghini that offers a wide variety of personalization options through the Ad Personam personalization department: there are 400 different body shadesand each customer can order a certain color.

The paints used are water-based, not solvent-based, and to avoid waste, Lamborghini uses a special machine to cut the upholstery to limit the amount of skin remaining and, as a result, as much waste as possible. The catalog presents 70 types of upholstery.

In the center of the cabin we find an 8.4-inch vertical touchscreen. There is also a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster located behind the steering wheel and a 9.1-inch screen for controlling certain functions such as the driver assistance system or ventilation.

The infotainment system updates automatically and also integrates Amazon Alexa, allowing you to control many of the car’s functions with voice commands. The car can also be connected to the Lamborghini Unica app to always have the status of the car, i.e. fuel level, battery charge, range and where the car has been parked. You can then perform operations such as locking and unlocking the doors with your Apple Watch as well.

The Lamborghini Revuelto is also equipped with driving aids, including Active Lane Departure Warning (ALDW), which monitors the markings and intervenes in the direction in case of unintentional lane crossing, and Lane Departure Warning, which monitors blind spots. and warns the driver of any danger before changing lanes, adaptive cruise control, which adjusts the speed and distance to the vehicle in front, or rear cross-traffic alert, which warns the driver when reversing of moving obstacles.
