Rapid – Kristiansand, Champions League quarter-finals

In front of more than 5,000 spectators who supported them throughout the game, the speedsters managed to pull off a miracle after the game of the round was lost 29-24.

The girls, coached by Kim Rasmussen (who joined the team just three weeks ago in place of Carlos Weaver), got off to a strong start and the Rapid led 12-8 at halftime.

Although they also led with a difference of seven goals, the final was extreme, the speedy scored from 7 meters, and the Slovenians inexplicably missed in the last phase.

The main scorers of Kim Rasmussen’s team were Polman – 8 goals, Grozav – 6, Kanor – 5 and Gutierrez Bermejo – 4.

Rapid, who are among Europe’s top eight teams, will face defending champions Vipers Kristiansand of Norway in the quarter-finals.

The first match will take place in Bucharest on April 29/30, and the second leg in Norway on May 6/7.
