
Britain’s Cameron Norrie suffered a surprise loss to France’s Gregoire Barrer on Saturday in the second round of the Miami Open, an ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

The 11th seed in the Florida event, Norrie lost after just an hour to Barrere (65 ATP), 6-3, 6-2.
The 2023 season is very successful for Cameron (27 years old). The Brit met Carlos Alcaraz in two consecutive finals (lost in Buenos Aires, won in Rio de Janeiro) and reached the final act in Oakland (lost to Richard Gasquet).

- This is Gregoire Barrer’s first win over a top 20 ATP player.
- Barrere will meet Christopher Eubanks (119 ATP) in the third round after the American pulled off another surprise win over Croatia’s Borna Coric (20 ATP, 17th seed).
The Miami Masters takes place from March 22 to April 2 on hard, has a total prize fund of $8.8 million, and the current champion and main favorite is Carlos Alcaraz.
