Positive feedback from Le Monde about Aracely Laimu’s Saint Amy.

IN “Saint Amy“, the award-winning first feature film by a Greek director Aracelis Limouthe French newspaper Le Monde paid tribute, writing positive reviews of the film project.

Entitled “Saint Amy: A Boyhood Mystery,” the publication states, “With an originality that we’re not immediately aware of, the film tells the story of a mysterious young lady who lives in the shadow of her older sister, somewhat reminiscent of Brian De Palma.” The newspaper emphasizes that “the film, whose characters belong to the Filipino community of Athens, observes adolescence in terms of mystical stigma. Saint Amy is plotting to spread a strange feeling that has to do not only with an unfavorable age, but also with the “foreign” position that her heroine is experiencing, ”the publication notes.

Moreover, he writes: “The film unfolds in many directions, constantly introducing new characters. That’s the beauty of the film, without exaggeration or sensationalism.”

The message of the film is: “Amy feels like an outsider in the insular community of Piraeus Filipino charismatic Catholics who warmly welcomed her sister Teresa. When Teresa becomes pregnant, Amy is drawn to the mysterious forces that reside within her.”
