The man lives near the stadium and complained that the fireworks set off before the game scared his horse. According to local media, the incident brought back unpleasant memories: in the past, his daughter was taken by helicopter to the hospital after falling from a frightened horse.

The president of the host group tried to explain the strange moment by saying that the fireworks were lit by the club’s juniors.

“The juniors wanted to support their team with fireworks, but it turned out unpleasant for our neighbor, so he went on the field. We don’t want to be a burden to anyone, but we have to monitor security on the ground.

We know the neighbor, he played with us in his youth. We will talk with him, I think he reacted under the pressure of the emotions of the moment. We want good relations with him, we are neighbors.

We are responsible and regret what happened, but the juniors had good intentions. The moment affected the concentration of our players” – Kees van der Lestpresident of the Veenhuizen club.

The match ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the guests.
