It was declared illegal Single Court of First Instance of Athensfollowing a lawsuit filed by the Minister of the Interior on behalf of the Greek State Makis Voridis and finance minister Christos Staikouras, abstinence strike of civil servants from their duties which he proclaimed to her Thursday, March 16 ADEDY with a request not to apply the assessment and goal setting process to the state.

Minister of Internal Affairs Makis Voridis Commenting on the court’s decision, he said:

“I was surprised by ADEDY’s decision to announce an exclusion from the assessment and goal setting process. Such a decision is always surprising, but especially at the present moment, when the errors of the entire operating system and its tragic consequences are revealed in the most dramatic way, it really makes the most painful impression.

Our government has legislated and has been implementing since the beginning of the year a new assessment and targeting system in the Society to correct bad writing and overcome decades of pathology, trying to leave behind an assessment system in which everyone was excellent and there was no skill assessment process and staff improvement processes.

We adopted the law, of course, alone, without the support of the left opposition. We quickly adopted by-laws and, in accordance with our schedule, from 01.01.23 began to implement a new rating system.

At this point, ADEDY deemed it appropriate to announce an exclusion from the evaluation process. This decision is really annoying.

For this reason, we appealed to the courts, which declared the strike illegal, and therefore the process will continue as usual. We will continue to fight to create the conditions for effective public administration, and we believe that in our efforts we are supported by the vast majority of public servants.”
