Representatives of PNL Sector 1 believe that, although the decision of the Bucharest Court of Appeal is not final, it shows, at least at this stage, that the suspicions reported by ANI about Clotilde Armand may have a “real basis”.

“We demand the honorable resignation of the mayor, because in countless cases his lordship and his party have acted in similar situations. It is high time that the slogan “No punishments in public positions” found its application in their case as well! Otherwise, it is nothing more than political hypocrisy,” said the president of Sector 1 of the PNL, Sebastián Bourduya.

According to representatives of PNL Sector 1, Clotilde Armand will have all the necessary time to prove her innocence through the honorable resignation. The Bucharest Court of Appeal rejected the request of the mayor of Sector 1, Clotilde Armand, to suspend the protocol drawn up by the National Integrity Agency, which was declared incompatible.

The Court of Appeal of Bucharest rejected the request of the mayor of Sector 1, Clotilde Armand, to suspend the report drawn up by the National Integrity Agency, according to which she was declared in a state of incompatibility, according to Agerpres.

In November 2022, ANI determined that Mayor Clotilde Armand was in conflict of interest and incompatibility in connection with his appointment as manager of a project funded by European funds and implemented by the City Hall of District 1.

Later, Clotilde Armand requested the court to quash the report compiled by ANI and, alternatively, to suspend the report until the merits of her request were resolved.

The Bucharest Court of Appeal rejected his request for suspension, and set a hearing for May 8 regarding the cancellation.

According to ANI, Clotilde Armand found herself in a conflict of interest because, during her duties as mayor, she signed a provision appointing herself the manager of the project “Improving local administrative capacity to develop, implement and promote anti-corruption measures”. , which is financed from European funds and which brought themselves a material benefit in the amount of 18,720 lei, thereby violating the provisions of Art. 70, Art. 71 and Art. 76 of Law No. 161/2003.

5 signed provisions provide for the appointment of a project manager, as well as an increase in monthly financial assistance to 30%.

In addition, Clotilde Armand has been in a state of incompatibility since February 18, 2022, the date of the order regarding her appointment in this project.

In this case, the National Integrity Agency notified the Prosecutor’s Office at the High Court of Cassation and Justice about the existence of indications that Clotilda Armand committed a crime using her official position for the benefit of certain persons, since during the performance of her duties as mayor, respectively, between February and August 2022 signed five provisions that led to the creation of additional income for him.
