
In 2026, Porsche will launch a 100% electric version of the Cayenne SUV, the model that saved the brand two decades ago. There is only one electric model in the Porsche lineup, and by 2030 there will be five of them.
Porsche has an electric Taycan in its range, will release fully electric versions of the Macan in 2024, and an electric version of the Cayenne is due to hit the market in 2026. The first generation of Cayenne was released in 2002, and about 15-20,000 cars are sold annually in Europe.
The electric Macan can have a 100 kWh battery that will “translate” through the autonomy of 500 km.
The crossover, larger than the Cayenne, is due to hit the market in 2027 or 2028, a range-topping electric model with a price to match.
Another model, the 718, is due in 2025, which will also have a petrol version.
A company in the VW group wants eight out of ten cars delivered to be fully electric by 2030.
Porsche has a market capitalization of $18 billion and will peak at $36 billion in June 2021.
Porsche sold 66,000 cars worldwide in the year it launched the Cayenne. In 2022, it reached 310 thousand.
