
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Justin Welby, will be received on a visit to Elizabeth Palace on Monday by Her Majesty Margaret Keeper of the Crown and HRH the Prince Consort.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain in Bucharest Andrew Noble L.V.O., Venerable Canon Dr. Jeremy Morris, personal secretary James Megoran, parish priest S. Anglican Church of Bucharest, Father Nevsky Everett and Mrs. Andrada Petrache of the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Bucharest informed the press service of His Majesty’s Custodian of the Crown on Sunday.
His Majesty and Prince Radu will offer breakfast to the distinguished guests.
The Archbishop of Canterbury is the spiritual leader of the Anglican Church throughout the world and together with the Archbishop of York heads the Church of England. The 105th Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, was enthroned in March 2013 (the first ever Archbishop of Canterbury was enthroned in 597).
Over the past decade, the head of the Church of England has presided over major religious ceremonies in England and the British royal family, such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s memorial service in March 2022 and the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022. .
The Archbishop of Canterbury is the one who will preside over the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023.
