In fact, with the amendment submitted to Parliament in the previous days, the opportunity for new advance payments is provided, since, by decision of the competent Ministers of Labor and Finance, the beneficiaries are expanded to include those who applied for a supplementary pension before the end of 2022.

In particular, out of 80,000 pending additional pensions in the two months from January to February, 43,000 pensions were issued, pending for months or even years and for which the basic pension has already been assigned. According to the FECA, the agency’s services continued in January with the final disbursement of 17,000 additional pensions, with most recipients receiving both the additional pension and the corresponding retroactive payments at the end of February. In February, 26 thousand additional pensions were issued, the recipients of which will receive the corresponding amounts at the end of March.

In its announcement, the organization points out that the doubling of bonus rates compared to the corresponding period last year is due to a number of actions and initiatives taken by the FECA administration, such as the introduction of automated procedures and digital tools, the massive acceptance of overdue supplementary pension cases from speakers who recently, basic pensions were issued, for the commissioning of a special control tower and for additional pensions, etc.

With regard to the advance payment of the additional pension, as defined in the law, its payment is scheduled for March 15, and the recipients are insured persons who are assigned a basic pension and who must have at least 15 years of supplementary insurance (or 4,500 days of service). additional insurance) and who submitted an application before July 1, 2022. Of course, in connection with the new legislative initiative, the number of beneficiaries has been expanded and with the expected adoption of a ministerial decision in the near future, the deadline for applying from July 1 December 2022, which entered into force today, will be extended until December 31, 2022.

The exact number of recipients of advance payments of the additional pension will be announced in the coming days after the completion of all relevant checks. Those insured who did not receive early payment of additional pension on March 15, this is due to the following reasons:

• Do not meet the cumulative conditions for receiving an advance (at least 15 years of additional insurance, previous receipt of a basic pension, etc.).

• Applications for additional benefits have certain legal or technical issues for which EFKA will contact the insured person.

• Their final supplementary pensions were awarded during the first 15th of March and the said insured persons will receive them no later than the end of April along with their respective pensions retroactively.

The advance payment is EUR 100 for each month of delay in awarding the supplementary pension, for the supplementary old-age pension and EUR 50 for the supplementary disability pension, and for the surviving spouse applying for the supplementary pension. because of death.
