The Financial Conduct Authority (ASF) published new RCA reference rates on Tuesday evening.
The new RCA benchmarks are higher and exceed 40% for some drivers.
RCA’s highest prices they will be available to car owners under the age of 30 who drive cars with a cylinder capacity of more than 2,500 cubic meters.
The rate is about 14% higher than in August 2022, when its value was 4,140 lei, and 28% higher than in February 2022, when the base rate for this category was 3,551 lei.
For drivers of the same age category who own cars with a cylinder capacity less than or equal to 1,200 cmc, the basic RCA rate announced by ASF is now 1,822 lei, which is 19% higher than in August 2022 (when the rate was 1,532 lei) and by 41.7% compared to February 2022 (when this rate was 1,286 lei).
At the opposite pole are RCA’s lowest prices car owners aged 51 to 60 who drive cars with a cylinder capacity of less than or equal to 1200 cc will continue to receive benefits, but also for prices will be higher than before.
Therefore, the new RCA reference rate announced by ASF for these drivers is 1,006 lei, which is 17% more compared to August 2022, when the rate was 860 lei, and 32% more than February 2022, when the rate for this category was 762 lei.
Where RCA is growing is in other categories of drivers and EVs
- For drivers between the ages of 31 and 40, the new regulatory RCA rates range from 1,114 lei to 1,823 lei depending on the volume of the car’s cylinders.
- For drivers between the ages of 41 and 50, the new regulatory RCA rates vary from 1,076 to 2,912 lei depending on the volume of the car’s cylinders.
- For drivers aged 51 to 60, the new basic rates range from 1,006 to 2,853 lei, depending on the volume of the car’s cylinders.
- For drivers over 60 years old, the new basic rates range from 1,036 to 2,767 lei depending on the volume of the car’s cylinders.
For the first time, ASF also published reference tariffs for owners of electric cars, the prices of which range from 1,397 lei (51-60 years) to 2,742 lei.
And firms will pay more for RCA
RCA rates for legal entities currently range from 1,354 lei (cars with a cylinder capacity of 1,601-1,800 cc) to 1,895 lei (over 2,500 cc).
In the case of electric cars, the RCA base rate is 2,736 lei.
For comparison, in August 2022, these reference rates ranged from 1,149 to 1,652 lei.
In February 2022, these reference rates were even lower, between 1,038 and 1,483 lei.
