The Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, which has been under the occupation of Russian troops for a year, no longer produces electricity and is now only a military base for Russian troops, says the exiled mayor of Energodar, reports Le Monde.
The nuclear plant has been occupied since March 4, 2022.
“This year of occupation turned Europe’s largest nuclear power plant into a military base,” noted Dmytro Orlov.
According to him, the Russians know that the Ukrainian army will not fire at the plant to avoid an accident.
According to him, there are currently at least 1,000 Russian military personnel at the plant and in Energodar. The number of workers at the plant would decrease with the beginning of the war from 11,000 to 6,500. (Source: News.ro)
