Sector 2 City Hall has received the green light from the General Council to purchase 4 hectares reclaimed in Plumbuita Park, following a 2014 court decision. Currently, the park is in an abandoned state. Currently, the purchase price of the green zone has not been determined, negotiations will begin between the City Hall of Sector 2 and the owners.

The City Hall wants to buy a piece of green space to reintegrate the park.

“The goal is to reintegrate into the Plumbuita Park, reconstruct/modernize green areas, children’s play areas and implement specific measures for recreational activities,” said the draft decision, adopted on Thursday by the General Council with 50 votes in favor.

The returned 4 hectares are located between Plumbuita Street and Plumbuita Monastery. Owners: Teodora Berbulescu, Koroi Rodika-Eugenia and Khanganu Anka-Maria.

After 2000, several parks in Bucharest were restored either by court order or by mayor’s orders:

  • 12 hectares were returned from the “Titan” park. During the last year, green spaces were systematically destroyed;
  • The Verdi park was almost completely returned – 5.6 hectares, but it was bought into the mandate of Gabriela Firea for about 50 million euros;
  • almost 7 hectares have been retroduced from the Youth Park;
  • from the circus park is almost a hectare;
  • in the parks of Basilescu and Floreasca, retrocession requests are resolved.
