
Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg, Russia, has temporarily suspended all flights until at least noon Tuesday, the city government said, without explaining the reason for the stoppage.
However, an unconfirmed report by the Russian online news agency Baza says that an unidentified object was seen in the sky and fighter jets were sent to investigate.
The city government announced on its official Telegram channel that it has suspended all flights at the airport until 12:00 local time (11:00 Greek time).
According to the latest data, the ban on flights within a radius of 200 km from Pulkovo has been extended until 13.20. local (12.20 Greece).
Data from the Flight Radar website showed that a number of domestic flights bound for St. Petersburg are changing direction.
