Klinsmann replaces Paulo Bento, who resigned after South Korea lost 4-1 to Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar in the round of 16.

The 58-year-old coach has signed a contract that runs until 2026 and will make his debut on March 24 when South Korea face Colombia in Ulsan in a friendly.

Klinsmann was the coach of Germany (2004-2006) and the USA (2011-2016). At the club level, he coached Bayern (2008-2009) and Hertha (2019-2020).
